Lost Dream

This pain is deep.
The ache of a lost dream.
My eyes long to cry.
My throat longs to scream.

But my body is too weary.
All my strength is gone.
My heart which once reached out
is now broken and withdrawn.

The moon's journey has ended.
My wishing star shines no more.
All I feel is emptiness.
A dark, hollow feeling I can't ignore.

  4. I feel your agony. Your words are powerful. The ache of lost dreams, but too weary and drained to scream... I hope that you find it cathartic to express yourself through your words. Know that people are supporting you in spirit. There are new dreams to be made.

  8. Thank you for all your kind, spruce comments! And thank you for reading. It is definitely therapeutic to put my thoughts and feelings down on paper. I'm trying to remember that tomorrow is a new day and perhaps I will have the strength then to start dreaming anew. Thank you all.

  11. Your poem is powerful and beautiful. Feeling emotions is part of the human experience and you've done an excellent job sharing how you feel. You took your pain and despair and turned it onto something beautiful. What I found interesting is your About me. It's not always easy to share a diagnosis like that, but putting it out there may help others. You have a lot of courage.
